Pre-Planning

Pre-planning your own funeral is an act of love and caring for your family because it can alleviate some painful decision-making at an already stressful time. By making plans in advance, you can take all the time you need to make satisfactory decisions regarding the type of service and burial you prefer. A pre-planned funeral can give your family lasting peace of mind knowing they’ve acted in accordance with your wishes.

A pre-planned funeral is a written plan or contract, which is filed with the funeral director you, have selected. This plan can state the type of service you desire, the casket and other merchandise you select, the type of music and all other wishes you have regarding your funeral.

Pre-Planning Funding Options
There are various options available in funding your funeral

(Click each option for more detailed information)

The amount of expenses is determined by your selection of merchandise and services. The total amount is paid at the time the contract is signed and the total amount is deposited in a trust account. The cost of the funeral services will never be increased to the purchaser, as the interest that the account accrues will offset the inflation that could occur. You may decide to include an allowance for non-guaranteed cash advance items (i.e. cemetery, flowers, funeral programs, etc.) Selections are made - funeral home prices are guaranteed.

An amount (determined by the buyer) is deposited into a trust account. A person designated by the buyer will make selection of services and merchandise at the time of death. This is not the same as guaranteed price contract. At the time of death current prices will apply. No selections are made at this time – money is deposited into the trust account.

The buyer makes the selection of all merchandise and services. An amount is deposited in a trust account at the time the contract is signed with additional installment amounts to be deposited as received. The price of the funeral is not guaranteed. At the time of death, the family may use the full amount in the trust towards the selected services. Additionally, insurance policies may be applied toward the at-need contract at the time of need. Selections are made – contract is not guaranteed.

We currently fund out Burial Insurance through Forethought Insurance Company and Cincinnati Equitable.
