Beverly Moorehead Stringer

Beverly Moorehead Stringer, 78, of Louisville, KY, passed away on February 16, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. Beverly was born on April 12, 1944, to Albert Beverly Moorehead and Georgetta Duncan in Louisville, KY. She was baptized on December 5, 1952, at Hill Street Baptist Church. Beverly graduated from Louisville Central High School in 1962. After graduating, she went on to study for a year at Kentucky State University. Beverly began working at BF Goodrich Chemical Company in 1971. She had various Administrative positions throughout her 30 years before retiring in 2001. Beverly made many friends; some whom she stayed in contact with over the years. When Beverly had Karen, she dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Beverly supported Karen through her passion of working with athletes and later during her goal of becoming a Physical Therapist. Beverly was known to hand out Karen’s business cards whenever anyone mentioned needing Physical Therapy. Beverly and Karen had a mother- daughter relationship like no other, often sharing inside jokes. Beverly also loved spending time with her grand-dog, Karly Michel, spoiling her with scrambled eggs every Monday and treating her with IcePops and Dum-Dum suckers. We love and and will miss you Muver and Grrranny! Beverly always tried to do something nice for others, just to let them know she was thinking of them. She would provide rides to/from church, bring your favorite candy, cook a meal, and just be available. Beverly was known to have a comedic side, too. She especially enjoyed “surprising” her lawn guy by blowing bubbles while he was cutting her grass. Beverly was a passionate, dedicated member of New Zion Baptist Church. Beverly served as the Secretary of her Sunday School class, which she loved. Beverly would assist wherever she was needed. We will miss her greatly. Beverly was predeceased by her parents, Albert Moorehead and Georgetta Moody, maternal grandmother, Vanetta Duncan, paternal grandparents, Jesse Moorehead and Katie Marshall, brother, Donald Moody, brother-in-love, Paul Satterwhite, and stepson, Jerry Stringer. She is survived by her daughter, Karen, grand-dog, Karly Michel; her siblings, George Moody, John Moody (Janet), Miriam Satterwhite, Scott Moody, Karen Moody, and Cleo Moody; her stepchildren, Bertha Southerling-Stringer, Christine Baccus, James Stringer (Janice), Gwendolyn Stringer, Jacqueline (Richard) Sims, and Anita Stringer; a host of nieces and nephews; and many friends. Visitaion: 10am-12pm Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at New Zion Baptist Church, 1501 S. 34th St. funeral service to follow at noon, burial in Green Meadows Cemetery.
