Harry Martin Reno Jr.

Harry Martin Reno, Jr. age 70, of Louisville Kentucky, passed away on February 11, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. Harry was born on October 20, 1952. After Harry graduated from Central High School in 1971, he served his country for over 20 years in the United States Army where he retired as Sergeant First Class. After serving his country he graduated with a degree in Business Administration from McKendree University. He then went on to work for Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) in the Telecom-Information Technology (IT) department until his retirement. Harry loved technology, his gun collection, and was passionate about learning photography. He joined Mount Moriah Lodge No. 1 over 30 years ago and was a proud member of the P.H.A. Masonic Family. Harry was predeceased by his former wife of 44 years, Patricia Ann Reno and he is survived by his wife Tamara Bass Reno. Additionally, he was preceded in death by a daughter Emily Bass; his father Harry Sr.; his mother, Carolyn Brown Reno Jones; his brothers Dennis, and C. Marty Reno, and Andre Wilburn. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children and step-children; Dr. Cynthia Eddings-King (Ty), Dr. Johnny McHaney (Maggie), Danielle Bass, Tiffany Bass, Isaiah Bass and a special godson, Dantana Smith. His grandchildren; M. S’vea Carter-King, Connor King, Denim Moore, Joshua McHaney, Jeremiah McHaney, Paris Dawson, Jayden Barrow, and one great-grandson; Nehemiah Trust King. His sisters; Mary Guest (Jonathan), Donna Wade Wales (Eric), Rhonda Ware, Melvina Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved him. If you asked a hundred people who Harry Reno was, they’d all give you a different story- a father of many even those who had no father, a protector, a friend, and a proud grandfather. Harry was all of these, but perhaps the description we cherish the most was his kind-hearted giving soul. His legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we control our own destiny by the choices we make. In his memory, we choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service. Visitation: 5pm-8pm Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at A. D. Porter & Sons Funeral Home, 1300 W. Chestnut St., also Wednesday, 11am -12pm March 1, 2023. Funeral service 12pm Wednesday, March 1, at the funeral home, burial in KY Veterans Cemetery.
