Life Reflections James Edward Davidson (Jim/Jimmie/Jimmie D) was called home on April 13th at 6:41AM. Jim was a gift to the world. Houston and Georgia Davidson received their gift on February 02, 1946 and generously shared him with us. It is not often that someone’s life could affect so many other lives in a very positive way. Our blessing comes in not only knowing Jim, but being able to love him, laugh with him, and by listening to his thoughts, opinions, jokes, and stories, we’ve been able to see the world through his eyes. That in itself is a blessing from God, a 78-year old gift that never stopped giving. At a tender age, Jim accepted Christ as his Savior and became a member of Youngs Chapel AME Church. There he became a student of God’s word and actively attended Sunday school and church. Jim was an excellent student with a zeal for learning. He attended DuPont Manual High School, the University of Louisville and Western Kentucky University. While at Western he was on the charter line of the Epsilon Rho chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. As a hard worker and task-oriented man, he was well-liked and respected by all those under his gentle, yet stern expectations as a production supervisor at several companies. He was genuinely a “family” man. Pickle (Chris), Dana, Kilah and Jadyn were his life. If they asked for it, they got it, without question. If they even thought of it, it was theirs. He would go out of his way, at any time, to do what they needed. He was Jadyn’s “best friend”. He was Dana and Kilah’s outstanding father. He was the husband that every woman could only dream of having. He was a loving brother-in-law to Myria and Charles. He was the neighbor who had two of everything in case someone needed one. He was a selfless, great man. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Georgia Davidson and his sister, Brenda Coleman. Those left to cherish their memories of Jim include: his devoted wife of 51 years, Christola; two daughters, Dana Brashear (Ronald) and Kilah Davidson; one granddaughter, Jadyn; 2 nieces, 3 nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rest Easy, Jim. Your work is done. WE LOVE YOU!! Visitation will be from 10am-12pm, on Monday, April 22, 2024, at A.D. Porter and Sons Funeral Home- Southeast, 4501 Bardstown Rd., with funeral service to follow at 12 noon.
