With profound sadness yet boundless love, we honor the life and legacy of Mrs. Linda D. Singleton Mills, a radiant soul who graced this world with warmth and wisdom. Born on August 17, 1952, in Mobile, AL, Linda peacefully entered heavenly rest on Friday, April 5, 2024, at her cherished home in Louisville, KY. Affectionately known as "Lin" among her adoring family, Linda was the cherished third child of the late Mr. Agnew & Mrs. Isabell Singleton. From her earliest days, Linda's heart was devoted to her faith, as she embraced the teachings of Christ and was baptized in the loving embrace of Yorktown Missionary Baptist Church. Educated and empowered, Linda graduated from Mobile County Training High School in the Class of 1969, embarking on a journey of higher learning with a four-year scholarship to Tuskegee Institute. There, she cultivated her passion for business management, earning a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in accounting, a testament to her dedication and pursuit of excellence. In December of 1971, Linda united in holy matrimony with her beloved Byron A. Mills, Sr., sharing 25 years of boundless love until his passing in September of 1996. Their union was a beacon of devotion and partnership, a testament to the enduring power of love. From this union was born her only child, Byron A Mills II. Throughout her life, Linda's spirit of service shone brightly, exemplified by her unwavering dedication to Canaan Christian Church, where she led and taught in the Women Ministry. Her faith was the cornerstone of her being, guiding her every action with grace and compassion. In addition to her remarkable contributions to her community and church, Linda's professional journey was marked by excellence and integrity. As a valued accountant with Bramco Inc. in Louisville, KY, from 1975 to 2018, Linda's 43 years of commitment and work ethic left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working alongside her. In the tapestry of life, Linda's presence remains a vibrant thread, weaving through the hearts of all who were touched by her gentle spirit. Though she may have bid farewell to this earthly journey, her light will forever illuminate our souls, guiding us with love from above. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Byron Mills, Sr., parents Mr. Agnew & Mrs. Isabell Singleton, sisters, Ms. Rosilyn Hall, Mrs. Paula Daniels, and Mrs. Carolyn Denson, sisters-in-law Mrs. Angela Lovett, and Mrs. Pamela Washington. Her loving memories will always be cherished in the hearts of her family, her devoted son Byron A. Mills II, sisters, Mrs. Marilyn (McArthur) Sanders, Monee, Il., Ms. Carletta Singleton, Birmingham AL., and Ms. Andria Singleton, Cincinnati OH.; brothers, Rev. Kyle (Vanessa) Singleton, Aurora IL., Rev. Alan (Toni) Singleton, Sr., Mobile, AL.; brothers-law, Mr. Clarence (Voncile) Tucker, Sylacauga, AL., Mr. Alphonso Denson, Hoover, AL., and Rev. Charles Daniels, Montgomery, AL., sister-in-law Ms. Kathy Miller of Mobile, AL; her aunt, Mrs. Antoinette Singleton, Plateau, AL; her nieces, nephews, a host of cousins and special friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
