Mary Elizabeth Beeler

March 3, 1927- November 9, 2022 Mary Elizabeth Buchanan Beeler was born in Louisville, KY on March 3, 1927, to the parents of Carrie and John Buchanan. Her mother addressed the household needs of the family and her father worked as a Pullman Porter from a very young age. She received her early education through the Louisville Public School system during challenging sociological and economical times of that era. She excelled in her studies and was named 3rd Honors in Junior High School and Valedictorian of the Central High School of 19441/2 in Louisville Kentucky. Her lifelong dream was to become a Research Chemist and went on to attend Tennessee State University via an Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Scholarship. She transferred to Louisville Municipal College, a subsidiary of the University of Louisville, where she met her husband of 50 years Arthur L. Beeler Sr. now deceased. She was a former employee of the IRS, Trumbull County School System in Canton Ohio and Jefferson County School System in Louisville Kentucky from which she retired after 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Beeler Sr., sister-in-law Mary Walker, sister-in-law Essie Lloyd, sister-in-law Parthenia Howard, Nima Beeler, daughter; Barbara Victor, step-daughter, son-in-law Thomas “Tony” Smith, step-son Arthur Beeler, Tara Hirsekorn, grand-daughter and Martell Hall grand-son. She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Glenn A. Beeler Sr. (Cassandra} Charlotte, NC; Terri Beeler Louisville KY, Ronald Beeler, Sr. Paoli, PA; A. Maria Beeler - Wright (Ronald) Charlotte, NC; Lisa Beeler-Smith, Collegeville, PA; step-son Mark Beeler Sr. Louisville, KY; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Bella Beeler Louisville, KY; brother-in-laws, Kenneth Beeler Georgetown, IN, Austin Beeler Biloxi, MS and a host of other relatives and friends. Donations to the National Kidney Foundation of St Matthews Louisville KY can be made in her honor. Visitation: 9am-11am Saturday, November 19, 2022 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 6500 St. Bernadette Ave., Prospect, KY, funeral service to follow at 11am. Entombment: Evergreen Cemetery.
