Joseph Smith

SFC Joseph Smith of Louisville Kentucky transitioned on November 9, 2020 at home with family. He was born on November 24, 1926 to the late Lewis Smith and Carrie Grant Smith in Marianna, Florida. He attended Jackson County School. At a young age he enlisted in the United States Army where he served for more than thirty years traveling all over the United States and abroad. SFC Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Smith; his parents, Lewis Smith and Carrie Grant Smith; sister, Maggie L. S. Curry; one niece, Vencie C. Williams; two nephews, Henry L. Curry and Stevie Holmes. He leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Hermie Holmes of Tampa, Florida; two nephews, Permon Curry Jr. (Marianna, Florida) and David L. Holmes (Angletta), Tampa, Florida; four nieces, Emma Saunders, Mellow Curry (North Carolina); Judy Holton, Virginia and Marilyn Capehart (Byron), Marianna, Florida; third generation nephew, Dennis Cannon III, Louisville, KY; special friends, Voice Mack, and Alahna Mills both of Louisville, KY., his loving dog, BB, a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends. Visitation: 11am-12pm Monday, November 16, 2020 at A.D. Porter & Sons Southeast, 4501 Bardstown Rd. Burial: Louisville Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all services at our facility are limited to 50 people.
