Patience Lee Tillman

With heavy hearts yet grateful spirits, we celebrate the beautiful life of Patience Lee Nelson Tillman, who entered this world on February 14, 1941, a day befitting her name and the love she so freely gave. On March 21, 2025, she peacefully transitioned from this life to her eternal home, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and unwavering strength. Patience was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Pattie Harris and Emmett Nelson, and her cherished daughter, Diane Stokes. Though we mourn her passing, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with them in glory. She leaves behind a family who will forever treasure her memory: her brother, James Turner, her loving children Gloria Hales (Ronald), Lorraine Stevens(Roosevelt Jr.), Allison Tillman and William Tillman (Lisa); eight adored grandchildren; seven precious great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended relatives. Each of them carries a piece of her heart and wisdom, a testament to the deep love she had for her family. Patience’s life was one of purpose and devotion. She gave her life to Christ as a child, walking in faith every day thereafter. She loved the Lord with all her heart, and her faith was the foundation upon which she built a life filled with kindness, generosity, and grace. A woman of adventure and joy, she found delight in traveling and making memories that would last a lifetime. But no matter where her journeys took her, her greatest joy was always found in the presence of her family. To know Patience was to know love, patience, and grace. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and unwavering faith will remain with us always. Though she is no longer by our side, her prayers will forever keep us, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. We will honor her life, her legacy, and the unshakable faith that carried her through all seasons. Rest well, dear Patience, in the arms of the Lord. You are home. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 10am - 12 noon at A.D. Porter & Sons-Southeast, 4501 Bardstown Rd. with the funeral services to follow at 12 noon. Burial will be in Petersburg-Newburg Cemetery.
