Virginia D. "Ninnie" Rollins

Virginia Rollins, affectionately nicknamed “Ninnie,” passed away on March 22, 2025 in her home surrounded by love and comfort of her family. She was born to the union of the late Johnny Morris and Fannie Mae Morris on November 6, 1941 in Louisville, KY. She accepted Christ at an early age while attending the Calvary United Methodist Church. Calvary later combined with Genesis United Methodist Church and she continued her membership there. Virginia loved her church and attended regularly until her health started to decline. When she was feeling up to it, she would still go to her church. Virginia was educated in the Jefferson County Public School System. She worked as a cook for over 40 years. She retired from Treyton Oak Towers. She had a love for some of the finer things in life. She loved to shop for clothes, handbags, hats, bedspreads, curtains, and just about any and everything. She was known for her immaculate taste for fashion. She was always the best dressed on every occasion. Virginia was also known for being a great cook and baker. She would feed any and everyone. Her cornbread dressing, caramel, and sock-it-to-me cake was often requested by many. These were only one of her many dishes. She could cook just about anything. A love for family is what Virginia cherished. She had a great love and relationship with her siblings. She loved her children and always made certain that they got along and that they never stayed angry long with each other. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Fannie Mae Morris; her sons, William Morris and Cedric Morris; her sisters, Mary Johnson, Bobbie Jean Yarbrough Edwards, Ramona Samuels, Bonnie Mae Barlow, and Alice Kennedy; her brothers, James Morris, Charles Morris, Eugene Morris, and Charles Skinner; grandson LaJuante Jackson. Virginia leaves to forever cherish her memories, her sons, Ellery Morris, Sty Morris; daughters, Samantha Morris (Clifford Eberhardt), Dana Watts, Bridgeda Morris, Jenean R. Brooks (L. LaRoy); sister, Etta Stallard; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, extended family, church family, and friends. Visitation will be from 10am - 12 noon on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Genesis United Methodist Church, 300 N. 42nd St, with the funeral services to follow at 12 noon. Burial will be in Green Meadows Cemetery
